Dist. 300 students present ‘Into the Woods Junior’

Submitted by D300 Foundation

This year D300 Foundation Presents is taking you on a wild ride with a production of “Into the Woods Junior,” with words and music by Stephen Sondheim and based on the book by James Lapine.

This musical of fractured fairy tales takes you into the woods to find the secret ingredients needed to break a spell. As this story evolves you will see some of your favorite characters come to life in an adventure to delight audiences of all ages.

There will be four performances at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, July 15-23 in Jacobs High School auditorium, 2600 Bunker Hill Road in Algonquin.

A surprise will be given away at each performance. You must visit the concession stand and purchase your Hershey’s chocolate cast bar to see if you find the four key symbols inside your wrapper.

General seating is $5. To purchase tickets, visit www.d300presents.org or email stephen.fodor@d300.org. For information, call Steve Fodor at (847) 532-PROP (7767).

The “Into the Woods Junior” cast will give a special preview from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 9, in Center Court at Spring Hill Mall, 1072 Spring Hill Mall in West Dundee.

D300 Foundation Presents also is sponsoring a summer theater fundraiser Saturday, July 23, at Buffalo Wild Wings, 461 S. Randall Road in Algonquin. On this day, 15 percent of all food purchases accompanied by a certificate will be donated to the D300 Foundation. Print a flier by visiting the D300 Foundation Presents Facebook page.

The D300 Foundation’s mission is to enhance and extend learning opportunities in all Community Unit District 300 schools.
