Flag exchange for House District 51 residents

The first 100 residents of the 51st Legislative District wishing to turn in an old U.S. flag and exchange it for a new one may bring their used flag to the district office of state Rep. Ed Sullivan (R-Mundelein) between June 20 and July 1.

Sullivan is sponsoring the U.S. Flag Exchange Program through his district office for the fourth year, as a way to give residents of the 51st district the ability to properly dispose of their old flags and to obtain a new U.S. flag to display or keep at their home or office. The program is free and open to 51st district residents.

“Summertime is a great season to display a flag outside your home or business as a way to express your pride in being an American, to show support for our troops serving overseas, and to show respect to those active duty military personnel or retired veterans here at home who have served our country,” Sullivan said in a news release.

“I hope local residents of the 51st legislative district take advantage of this opportunity to drop off their old flags at my office and pick up a new one.”

Sullivan’s district office is at 700 N. Lake St., Suite 101, Mundelein; or call (847) 566-5115.
