Hanover Twp. holds meeting on taxes

Hanover Township Assessor Thomas S. Smogolski will co-sponsor a Cook County Board of Review seminar with Cook County Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Township Senior Center, 240 S. Rte. 59, Bartlett.

The Board of Review will be answering questions and accepting property tax appeals. Residents are asked to bring their real estate tax bill to the seminar.

“Residents can attend the event to have someone walk them through the appeals process to make sure their paperwork is filed correctly,” said Hanover Township Assessor Thomas S. Smogolski.

The Cook County Board of Review will be accepting appeals from Hanover Township residents from Monday, April 11. until Tuesday, May 10.

“This is a great opportunity for Hanover Township residents who feel that their property is unfairly over assessed,” said Cook County Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider.
