District 59 appoints principal for Rupley

The Elk Grove Township Elementary District 59 school board Monday appointed Matthew Bohrer as principal of Rupley Elementary School, effective July 1.

Bohrer replaces Principal Karen Osmanski, who is retiring at the end of the current school year. He currently is a principal in Cary Elementary District 26, where he has worked for the past four years, and previously served as an assistant principal in DeKalb District 428 and Benjamin District 25.

Bohrer taught in elementary and middle schools in Illinois and Indiana school districts before becoming an administrator. He earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Manchester College in North Manchester, Ind. in 1987, a master’s degree in teaching mathematics from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1995, and a master’s in school administration from Aurora University in 2002.
