Dance team makes history

The Wauconda High School varsity dance team recently took two second place trophies in the lyrical and open dance competitions, becoming the first team from the school to place at the state tournament. The state competition included 110 teams that won regional contests during the season to qualify for the TEAMDance Illinois Class AA division state championship held March 6 in Peoria. Coach Michelle Lemm said the team’s showmanship and passion made the difference in their victory.
