Birnbaum a fresh voice for House 53

Nearly a year ago, Sid Mathias spoke at an accounting seminar in Palatine. His comments reflected a jaded, disenchanted view of Illinois politics. He complained repeatedly that nothing could get done in the House of Representatives and offered no constructive information or suggestions.

Several of the attendees, myself included, wondered why he would run again, since he seemed so unhappy with the situation.

Shortly after that experience, I learned that Linda Birnbaum would be running against Sid in the next election. I have known Linda for nearly 20 years and served with her on the District 23 school board for 10 years. Linda is thoughtful, she is an excellent listener and a collaborator. Linda works to build consensus, she is strong and able to hold her own in any forum. Linda believes in Illinois, she believes in our democratic form of government and she is willing to step up and work for change in Illinois.

Over the last year, Linda has walked the neighborhoods of our district speaking with voters and building a consensus of the issues, concerns, hopes and needs of the people of our district.

Illinois needs enthusiastic, dedicated, diligent, forward thinking representation. Please make time to vote in this election. Vote for change, vote for the future of Illinois and vote for Linda Birnbaum.
