2011 municipal election preparation starts Tuesday

We're not even through with one election and another one is starting.

Tuesday is the first day people can circulate nomination petitions for offices to be elected in the April 5, 2011 municipal elections.

Candidates have until December to decide if they are actually going to file those petitions, however. The filing date is Dec. 13 to 20. All terms are four years, unless otherwise noted.

These are the city council and village board seats up for election.

The seats of four village presidents are up for election: Campton Hills' Patsy Smith, Kaneville's Bob Rodney, Lily Lake's Jesse Heffernan and Eileen Phipps in Wayne.

BataviaAldermen Garran Sparks, Alan Wolff, Dan Chanzit, Tom Schmitz, Lucy Thelin Atac, Lisa Clark, Dave Brown and Janet Jungels all have expiring terms. Jungels' seat in the 3rd Ward is a two-year term. Petition forms can be picked up at the city clerk's office at the Batavia Government Center, 100 N.
