District 214 to test iPads at Vanguard SchoolMay 28, 2012 6:55 PM - Vanguard Alternative School in Arlington Heights will test iPads in classrooms over the next two years while developing a digital-only curriculum that can be implemented at other Northwest Suburban High School District 214 schools. The district aims eventually to have an iPad for each of its 12,000 students.

Suburban high schools flock to TeamDance championships in PeoriaMar 6, 2011 7:48 PM - Poms, flag teams and dancers from more than 100 high schools throughout Illinois are converging on the Peoria Civic Center today for one of prep sports' most colorful state championships. But if you think "best in poms" means a traditional halftime routine, think again. Just the name of the sanctioning organization -- TeamDance Illinois -- reflects the trend. In all, more than 2,000 students will be competing, as they showcase the best dance, flag and poms routines from throughout the state.
