Pillars of Freedom hopes to place statue in East Dundee

Their mission is to raise $300,000 to place an 18-foot bronze statue that depicts and models the famous photograph of New York City firefighters hoisting a tattered American flag in the ashes of the World Trade Center. They hope to install the statue in East Dundee.

Sleepy Hollow police join in Torch Run benefitsJun 29, 2015 2:11 PM - The Sleepy Hollow Police Department, Rutland-Dundee Fire Protection District and Cruisin' Bar and Eatery are sponsoring the "Cruisin' Forward for Special Olympics" car show from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 5, in the parking lot of the restaurant, 11 Galligan Road in Gilberts. Sign-in will begin at noon. The event will raise money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Teams of 10 able-bodied souls will compete to pull a fire engine 25 feet for the best time.
