Northwest Bible Baptist Church to perform 'Amazing Grace' Christmas cantata

On Sunday, Dec. 10, the adult choir of Northwest Bible Baptist Church will perform the Christmas cantata "Amazing Grace."

Accompanied by 10 specially arranged choral selections, this dramatic music presentation relates the touching story of a memory-challenged widow, forgetting that it was her son who had been killed in a car accident 10 years before. He was a passenger in a car driven by his best friend, whom his mother raised like a second son. Driving from out of state on a business trip over Christmas, that now successful but unhappy friend is forced by bad weather to stop at his childhood home and see the "mother" he'd avoided since that awful accident.

While there, he's confronted with the memory of his accident and the vanity and tragedy of his own life, but also with God's amazing grace that will transform his life.

It will begin at 4:15 p.m at the church, 9N889 Nesler Road in Elgin.
