Learn about soil and water conservation districts at Dec. 9 program
The City of Geneva's Natural Resources Committee is sponsoring a presentation open to the public regarding soil and water conservation.
"Partners In Your Community: Learn About Soil And Water Conservation Districts" will be presented from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Geneva Public Library, 227 S. Seventh St.
The Kane-DuPage Soil & Water Conservation's administrative coordinator Kat Gerdts and resource conservationist Patrick McPartlan will be the guest speakers.
Created during the U.S. dust storms during the 1930s, soil and water conservation districts are locally organized and operated government units.
In Kane and DuPage counties, the district's mission is to support residents' quality of life by leading efforts to ensure healthy soil, clean water, sustainable land development, and regenerative agriculture.
Those interested can register online with the Geneva Public Library at gpld.org.
