In addition, 76 seat belt violation citations were written. Other citations and arrests included:

• 33 speeding citations

• 16 distracted driving citations

• 6 traffic-related arrests (no valid DL/DWLS/DWLR)

"Through the Labor Day enforcement effort, we helped to make our roads safer and remind motorists that impaired driving is not a game," said Sergeant Tom Balsitis.

The Lombard Police Department joined forces with other law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners throughout the state for the Labor Day traffic safety campaign.

The program was made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
