Mundelein LUNCH to serve free meals to kids this summer

Mundelein LUNCH, a coalition of local volunteers (mostly from Mundelein churches) have teamed up again this summer to serve free, healthy meals to children in select Mundelein parks every weekday over the summer school break.

Mundelein LUNCH has two service sites: Hanrahan Park on Noel Drive and Gordon Ray Park, 358 Rays Lane, in Mundelein. The program runs through Aug. 12.

Meals are served from noon to 1 p.m., or until supplies run out, Monday through Friday at both locations.

Any child 18 or younger is eligible to receive a free meal. No ID is requested and there are no residency restrictions or registration. The only restriction is that the meal must be consumed on-site.
