Glen Ellyn fifth-grader wins international championship in Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition

Wilson Freymark of Glen Ellyn is the international champion of the 2022-23 Knights of Columbus free throw competition in the boys 10-year-old age division.

He will be honored with the coveted International Free Throw Championship trophy to be presented to him by the Knights of Columbus Illinois State Deputy in a celebratory ceremony.

After all the scores were tallied, Wilson had the highest score in the United States, Canada, and Mexico in his age division.

In January 2022, Wilson set a goal to win the International championship. He practiced and worked extremely hard to achieve this goal.

Wilson won the Illinois state championship in the Knights of Columbus free throw competition. From January to April, he bested all competitors at the council, district, regional, and state levels.

The state championship was held in Effingham on April 16.

Wilson Freymark made a perfect 25 out of 25 in two consecutive events, the regionals and state.

He is a fifth-grader at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School in Glen Ellyn and represented St. Petronille Parish in Glen Ellyn in the contest.
