St. Charles to host Rain Garden Workshop & Rain Barrel Sale

On Thursday, April 13, the St. Charles Natural Resources Commission is hosting a rain garden workshop for the community.

It will begin at 6 p.m. at the Public Works Training Room, 1405 S. Seventh Ave., second floor. This event is free and all are welcome.

Speaker Jessica Mino, Kane County program director with The Conservation Foundation, is partnering with the St. Charles Natural Resources Commission to demonstrate how to create an environmentally friendly yard.

Mino will share how to deal with your home's stormwater, take advantage of spring rain, and support a healthy environment in the process, including the benefits of and how to utilize a rain barrel.

The commission also is holding an online rain barrel sale now through April 24. Order via www.stcharlesil.gov.

For more information, contact the Public Works Department at (630) 377-4405.

Pick up for the St. Charles Rain Barrel Sale will be at the Arbor Day clean-up and celebration from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Pottawatomie Park, 8 North Ave. in St. Charles.
