League of Women Voters-Aurora Area to host March 21 program on campaign funding

The League of Women Voters-Aurora Area will host an informative program on campaign funding on Tuesday, March 21.

Guest speaker Alisa Kaplan, executive director of Reform for Illinois, will present "Bought and Paid For? The Influence of Money on Representative Government."

It will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Santori Library, 101 S. River St. in Aurora. It also will be offered virtually at www.facebook.com/APLibraryIL.

Learn what PACs, super PACs, and "dark money" are and how funding is regulated.

How much time out of their workday do legislators spend fundraising? How can ordinary citizens find out how much money is being donated, and by whom, to candidates and legislators?
