Senior center celebrates 50 years with open house

There is much to celebrate this year for the Palatine Township Senior Center.

The community is invited to celebrate the senior center's 50th anniversary of serving the older population in the community with an Open House Celebration from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the center, 505 S. Quentin Road, in Palatine.

Enjoy appetizers and drinks, raffles and a silent auction for artwork. Tour the Palatine Township Senior Center while hearing about its programs and services, and learn how it has evolved and grown over the last 50 years. Enjoy entertainment by Charles Pansino from 4:30-5 p.m.

There is no cost to attend. This is the senior center's opportunity to show the community who they are, as well as an opportunity for the Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council to show its appreciation to the community for the support its has received over the years.

This event will be the first of three celebrations over the year, and the council hopes you can join for all of them.

RSVPs are encouraged by Wednesday, Feb, 15, but walk-ins are more than welcome. For information and to RSVP, call (847) 991-1112.
