Deadline has been extended for St. Charles St. Patrick's Parade

The St. Charles St. Patrick's Parade will be returning this year on Saturday, March 11, in downtown St. Charles.

The deadline to submit a parade application has been extended to Friday, Feb. 17.

The annual parade, presented by St. Charles Dodge Jeep and RAM, will step off at 2 p.m. at Sixth Street and continues down Main Street to conclude at Fourth Avenue.

To fill out an application to be in the parade, visit www.stcstpatricksparade.com/paradeapplication.

Local businesses, community groups and nonprofits are encouraged to participate.

Anyone interested in participating must complete an entry application, obtain a certificate of insurance naming the St. Charles Business Alliance and the City of St. Charles as additional insured, sign off on the St. Patrick's parade rules and safety guidelines, and return the documents along with the appropriate entry fee to the Alliance's office no later than Feb. 17.

The entry fee is $275 for businesses and $25 for nonprofit organizations. Forms can also be emailed to info@stcalliance.org.

The St. Charles Business Alliance is also looking for community volunteers to assist during the parade.

Volunteer opportunities include parade pacers, marshals, and banner carriers. Volunteer descriptions and the signup link can be found at www.stcstpatricksparade.com/volunteer.

At 11 a.m. at the First Street Plaza, an opening ceremony will kick off the St. Patrick's Parade with an Irish dance performance and entertainment, sponsored by McNally's Irish Pub & Kitchen.

After the ceremony, check out the St. Patrick's Day specials around town before finding your place along Main Street for the parade.

Take a festive photo at the Lucky Photo Station located across from Pollyanna Brewing Company at Riverside and Illinois avenues, sponsored by McNally's Heating & Cooling.

While you're downtown, use the Travel St. Charles app to check-in to local businesses that have a shamrock displayed in their window or business. Individuals who check in to at least seven locations with shamrocks will be entered to win a "Pot of Gold." While there, remember to take advantage of their St. Patrick's themed promotion.
