St. Catherine of Siena Church to hold 'Light of the World' retreat

Have you wondered: What is the purpose of my life? How can I develop a closer relationship with God? How can I become more connected to my parish?

St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church will hold a Lenten "Light of the World" retreat on Friday to Monday, March 3-6 at the West Dundee church.

The retreat will offer inspirational talks and discussions to bring the Holy Gospel alive.

Participants will learn how to give purpose, meaning and direction into their lives. It will be conducted by the priests and parishioners from St. Catherine of Siena Church and St. Mary Church in Gilberts.

Retreat participants will gather together Friday evening, March 3, all day on Saturday and Sunday, March 4-5, with a follow-up meeting on Monday evening, March 6. This is not an overnight retreat as participants will be going home each evening.

"Our parish based retreat is a great opportunity for us to encounter the light of Christ and become a radiant light to our world," said Rev. John McNamara, pastor, St. Catherine of Siena Church. "I took part in this retreat years ago and it was a great experience for me to hear the saving 'Good News' again. Participation in this retreat is a great way to start off our Lenten journey."

The ministry began in Illinois and has grown to include 130 parishes in 50 states, as well as churches in other countries. The website for Light of the World is www.lotwem.org.
