Dr. Joseph Baldassano Installed as Chicago Dental Society's Northwest Suburban Branch Director

A practicing endodontist for 30 years, Joseph V. Baldassano, D.D.S, M.S.D., of Inverness, Illinois, was installed as the Chicago Dental Society's (CDS) Northwest Suburban Branch Director on November 13. Dr. Baldassano has held multiple roles within CDS as President of the Northwest Suburban Branch, member of the Northwest Suburban Mediation Committee, and Entertainment Chair for the 2018 Midwinter Meeting.

As Northwest Suburban Branch Director, Dr. Baldassano will work with Northwest Suburban Branch members to encourage engagement, recruit new members, and assist with preparations for the 2023 Midwinter Meeting, taking place at McCormick Place West in Chicago, February 23-25. The Midwinter Meeting is CDS' annual scientific meeting and one of the dental industry's premier events, offering 2023 attendees access to more than 240 courses taught by world-class speakers and today's leaders in dental innovation, live exhibits, and networking opportunities with colleagues and friends.

Dr. Baldassano holds a bachelor's degree in Biology from Loyola University of Chicago and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors from the Loyola University School of Dentistry. As one of four residents accepted nationwide, he completed the Endodontic Specialty Residency Program at Indiana University School of Dentistry to earn his Specialty Certificate in Endodontics, as well as a minor in oral pathology. In addition to his leadership roles within CDS, Dr. Baldassano has also served as President of the Arcolian Dental Arts Society and Edgar D. Coolidge Endodontic Society. Also among Dr. Baldassano's career achievements are an Award of Merit from the American College of Dentists and a Champion recognition of Evidence Based Dentistry from the American Dental Association (ADA). In addition to his membership with CDS, Dr. Baldassano is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, a Fellow of the American College of Dentistry, and holds membership with the ADA, the Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS), Delta Sigma Delta Dental Society, and the Arcolian Dental Arts Society. He also serves as the director of the Northwest Suburban Branch's DENT-IL-PAC, the lobbying committee of ISDS.

Since 1992, Dr. Baldassano has run his own private practice, Baldassano Endodontics, in Inverness, Illinois. In addition, he also serves as a Staff Endodontist at Hines Veterans Hospital and Good Shepherd Hospital. He frequently volunteers his time at Family Health Partnership Clinic located in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Established in 1864, CDS is the largest local component of the American Dental Association, with more than 4,000 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties.
