Nicor Gas partners with Top Box Foods in donating 200 turkeys to Aurora families

Leadership and employee volunteers from Nicor Gas spread some early holiday cheer at the Prisco Community Center in Aurora on Thursday, Nov. 17.

In partnership with Top Box Foods, the company distributed 200 turkeys and boxes of fruits, vegetables and other resources to area residents.

Representatives from Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency and Energy Assistance were also on hand to share resources with customers on how to save money on their monthly bills and basic needs support.

Throughout the year and this holiday season, Nicor Gas is committed to serving its customers in more than 650 communities across Northern Illinois.

Through its annual "Energy to Serve" campaign, Nicor Gas employees are committed to serving their neighbors with groceries, meals, gifts and basic needs throughout the holidays.

Top Box Foods is a Chicago-based, community-driven nonprofit that creates access to healthy and affordable foods.

The organization is partnering with Nicor Gas to offer fresh produce and other healthy groceries to help families in need and promote the development of a more sustainable food system.
