Lake County Exchange Clubs Host Free One Nation Under God Prayer Breakfast November 22

The Exchange Club of Gurnee, in cooperation with other exchange clubs in Lake County, will host the One Nation Under God Breakfast from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, at the Village Church of Gurnee, 1319 N. Hunt Club Road. The event is free and open to the public.

Observed each year during the week of Thanksgiving, the event brings together communities to acknowledge and appreciate the important roles religious faith and freedom have played in the nation's history.

The program, supported by the Exchange Clubs of Grayslake, North

Chicago, Round Lake and Zion, will feature presentation of colors by the Gurnee Police and Fire Honor Guard, recognition of Matthew Bendler, 2020 Gurnee Police Officer of the Year, and Earl Tuckman, 2020 Police Civilian of the Year, and guest speaker James Pellitteri, a Battalion Chief in the Gurnee Fire Department. The program will also recognize military veterans and their service to the country with a medley of patriotic songs by Lakeshore Singers.

The Exchange is a national service organization working together to make communities better places through programs of service in Americanism, community service, youth activities, and its national project, the prevention of child abuse.
