Monster Tree Service of the NW Suburbs Gives Back to Veterans During Saluting Branches Day of Service

Monster Tree Service of the Northwest Suburbs joined green industry professionals in the Chicago area and across the United States on Sept. 28th to donate a full day's work to honor America's military service men and women. The largest volunteer event in the tree care industry, Saluting Branches: Arborists United for Veteran Remembrance marked its seventh-annual day of service by improving the beauty and safety of the trees located at over 80 national and state veterans' cemeteries and properties around the country.

In Lake Forest, the event was held at the Fort Sheridan National Cemetery. Zach Carlson, Lead Arborist for Monster Tree Service of the Northwest Suburbs, got his team involved in Saluting Branches for the first time last year and was excited to return and continue giving back to his fellow veterans. Carlson served active duty in the Marine Corps from 2015 until 2020 and was active in the Marine Corps Reserves until 2022. He was stationed all around the world and deployed four times as a communications expert.

This year, Carlson was also the site leader for the Fort Sheridan event, coordinating and managing the work, equipment and volunteers. From tree planting and structural pruning to general cleanup, the Monster Tree Service team came together with Saluting Branches and others in the community to ensure the veteran cemetery continues to be a safe and beautiful space for all who visit.
