Naperville church to host afternoon concert Oct. 2

On Sunday, Oct. 2, enjoy an afternoon concert featuring the piano music of Claude Debussy performed by Chris Garofalo, director of music ministry at Community United Methodist Church.

This free community concert will be 3 to 5 p.m. at the church, 20 Center St. in Naperville.

It also will be livestreamed on the church's website, OneCUMC.net.

Garofalo, an active pianist in the Chicago area for more than 30 years, has composed works for solo piano, voice, choir, and chamber ensembles. With a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, he also maintains a private teaching studio in Westmont and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Downers Grove Music Club, a charitable non-profit musical arts organization.

His performance at Community UMC is the latest in a series of "Sunday musicales" sponsored by the church's Senior Outreach and Music ministries.

The afternoon concert will be in the church's sanctuary, which is accessible by elevator and features a hearing loop device to enhance hearing aids.

No admission is charged, but donations will be accepted to support this and future Sunday musicales.

More information about Garofalo can be found at his website, chrisgarofalomusic.com.
