Family fun at Pumpkin Patch Fest in South Elgin

South Elgin's Pumpkin Patch Festival returns on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at SEBA Park, 151 S. Water St.

This family-friendly event includes free admission and fun activities. The Costume Pet Parade starts at 10 a.m.

There will be face painting, pumpkin chucking, pyramid of hay, painting station (with purchase), Scholastic Book Fair, craft show, and concessions.

Try out "Plunging for Pumpkins" ($1 each) or the rock climbing wall.

Get some pumpkins ($2-$5), mini-pumpkins ($1), or corn stalks and hay bales ($6),

Registration for the Pet Costume Parade is open through Thursday, Sept. 29, at www.southelgin.com.

On-site registration will open at 9:30 a.m. at the entrance to the SEBA Park playground. Judging begins at approximately 10 a.m.

The parade will march along the sidewalk on South Water Street. Categories will be awarded for scariest, cutest, funniest and best owner/pet costume.

You can only participate in one category. Awards will be given to the top two in each category.
