First Church of Lombard's Lilac Auction ends with a celebration Sept. 17

To conclude this year's Lilac Auction, First Church of Lombard, 220 S. Main St., will have a live auction celebration from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17. The online auction opened Sept. 11 and closes at 9 a.m. Sept. 17. The live auction celebration will feature raffles, live auction items, games, a photo booth, trivia questions, and more.

The funds raised help people in need in Lombard, Villa Park and surrounding communities by supporting the outreach initiatives of First Church and its members.

Just a few examples include: the Community Table where First Church hosts a biweekly free dinner serving over 100 people; the Lombard-Villa Park Food Pantry where youth and adult groups from the church regularly provide assistance, and help sort, shelve and box foods; and Love Your Neighbor Day where church youth complete service projects (such as painting, lawn cleanup, etc.) for local elderly and disabled residents.
