Edward-Elmhurst Health's Community Investment Fund supports Greater Family Health's Franklin Park location

The Community Investment Fund of Edward-Elmhurst Health has awarded Greater Family Health funding in support of its Health Center in Franklin Park, which opened on July 25, 2022.

Among dozens of competitive applications totaling over $11,000,000, Greater Family Health's application was unanimously approved, 1 of 14 applications funded. The funding, to be distributed quarterly beginning August 2022, will be deployed to support staff salaries as those professionals provide pediatric, family medicine and internal medicine care to persons with incomes less than 200% of the federal poverty level.

The Health Center at 10225 Grand Ave. in Franklin Park will focus on residents of Franklin Park, Northlake, Schiller Park and Stone Park, although all are welcomed and all are provided care regardless of their ability to pay. While walk-ins are welcomed, appointments can be made at (844) 599-3700.

The health center in Franklin Park offers:

• Adult and senior health: Including sick care, chronic disease management, work and annual physicals, laboratory and diagnostic testing, gynecology services for women, and free pregnancy testing.

• Pediatric care: Including well child care, sick care, immunizations, school and sports physicals, chronic disease management, and laboratory and diagnostic testing.

• Behavioral health services: Including mental health counseling/therapy for individuals, families and groups and medication assisted treatment for opioid use disorder.

• Patient support services: Including translation, health benefits enrollment, care management, sliding fee discount program and discounted pharmaceuticals for qualifying uninsured patients, transportation assistance/reimbursement, and we welcome the uninsured and most insurances!

The Health Center features 15 accommodating examination rooms, two behavioral health offices, a full-service laboratory operated by LabCorp, and a CLIA-waived laboratory for point-of-care testing. 3 full-time practitioners, including Medical Director Dr. Engjellush Sadik and two physician assistants, are providing care in Franklin Park. The site is open Mondays to Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A ribbon cutting/open house celebration will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25.

Greater Family Health currently offers health care services out of 11 Health Centers in DeKalb, Elgin, Hanover Park, McHenry, Palatine, Streamwood, Sycamore and Wheeling. Additional services include family and adult medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, dental care, behavioral health care, including counseling, psychiatry and substance use disorder treatment, and an array of integrated support services.
