Oktoberfest Returns to Buffalo Creek Brewing Sept 30 - Oct 2

Lake County's destination brewery, Buffalo Creek Brewing, will tap into its German heritage when it hosts its annual Oktoberfest celebration, September 30th through October 2nd. The all ages, family-friendly festival features indoor and outdoor festivities throughout the brewery's Bavarian-themed taproom and two acres of sprawling lawns, biergarten and tented pavilions. Besides traditional beer and food, the free festival is full of traditional Bavarian music, open-air performances, competitions, and outfits.

"For those who can't make it to Munich this year, we're the next best thing!" exclaimed owner and brewmaster, Mike Marr. "We're expecting thousands to join us over the three-day weekend to celebrate the traditional Oktoberfest culture."

Headlining the mainstage over the weekend will be a curated selection of some of the area's most revered musicians helping set the boisterous tone with traditional Oktoberfest Oompah music, including the Drindolls on Friday from 7 pm to 10 pm, the brass section of the Lake County Symphony Orchestra on Saturday from 3 pm to 6 pm, and The Chicago Brass Band on Saturday from 7 pm to 10 pm. Meanwhile, guests can enjoy ongoing Oktoberfest games and contests in and around a giant Oktoberfest tent, such as: stein holding, barrel rolling, Hammerschlagen (nail driving), horseshoes, beer pong, flip cup, bags, and more. To fuel the competitive drive, authentic Oktoberfest foods will be offered as well as Buffalo Creek's extensive menu of craft beer highlighted by the featured Oktoberfest brew, the Big Ludwigski (a German Märzen with huge amounts of Munich malts, subtle hints of noble hops, and a clean finish). For the kids and non-drinkers, Buffalo Creek Brewing offers hand-crafted, non-alcoholic choices like freshly made ginger beer.

Partial proceeds from the Oktoberfest 2022 event will benefit the Rotary Club of Lake Zurich.
