Dine in or drive through at St. Demetrios' Greek Fest

Get ready for three days of food and fun when St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Libertyville hosts Lake County Greek Fest July 29-31.

The festival runs 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. Admission and parking are free.

Authentic Greek cuisine and Greek pastries will be available for purchase, including roast leg of lamb, pastichio (a lasagna-like pasta), souvlaki (meat on skewers), Athenian chicken, gyros (sliced meat in a pita), saganaki (flaming cheese), loukaniko (sausages), tyropita (cheese pie), spanakopita (spinach pie), baklava (a flaky pastry), loukoumathes (puffs of fried dough), galaktobouriko (a custard pastry), kourambiethes (cookies made from almonds and covered in powdered sugar) and more.

In addition to the dine-in option, food will be available for purchase at a drive-through, rain or shine.

Entertainment will include live Greek music Saturday and Sunday and a performance by The Breakfast Club from 6-9 p.m. Friday.

A raffle will be held with a first prize of $2,500 cash, $1,000 for second place and $500 third place.
