Toast Highwood's Wednesday Evening Gourmet Market

Celebrate Highwood has announced the return of its special Margarita Night themed Wednesday Evening Gourmet Market on Aug. 3.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in their favorite Jimmy Buffet-style, Parrothead and Hawaiian gear and party in Everts Park to the sounds of surf rockers Roger That!

There will be plenty of Cuervo Tradicional Margaritas, Mexican food and Key lime pie to enjoy with family and friends.

"Our inaugural Margarita Night last year had Jimmy Buffet fans coming to Highwood from all over the Midwest," said M. Brad Slavin, president of Celebrate Highwood and Highwood alderman.

"Highwood is a place people come to enjoy the spirit of community, great restaurants and bars and meet friends. We love bringing people together at our family-friendly festivals and events."

The evening will have something for everyone. There will be 60 vendors, including a variety of margaritas, Mexican and tropical foods, artisan crafts, local wares, live music and the great outdoors in a family festival setting.

With its Live Evening Concert Series from 5:30-9 p.m., families are encouraged to set up their picnic blankets and chairs and enjoy the evening in the park, dining on local goodies and jam to the sounds of local bands.

This year marks Celebrate Highwood's sixth season as an official 501(c)(3) with the mission of raising funds for worthy nonprofit organizations through its festivals and events. Although all festivals are free to the public, a portion of proceeds benefit various charities.
