Chamber Music on the Fox hosts free family concert series at Lords Park Zoo

This summer, Chamber Music on the Fox returns to the Lords Park Zoo in Elgin to offer three free lunchtime programs for audiences of all ages.

The series entitled "Bison, Bach, and Bassoons!" will feature a variety of ensembles performing 45-minute long nature/animal-themed concerts.

On Monday, June 13, the program will feature the four tubaists of the Chicago Tuba Quartet.

It will be followed on July 11 with Compass Duo, the husband-wife duo featuring Bruno Silva (viola) and Emily Nash (violin).

On Aug. 1, the Apollo Trio, a woodwind trio led by flutist Scott Metlicka, will make their debut in the Lords Park Park's grass. Each concert will take place at noon, and listeners are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy during the programs.

These free concerts begin at noon and are open to all ages.

Founded by Elgin Symphony Orchestra musicians Mark Fry and Sara Sitzer, Chamber Music on the Fox is a world-class classical chamber music series serving Elgin and the greater Fox Valley region, whose mission is to present engaging, enriching, and immersive performances and cultural experiences that enhance and enrich the cultural offerings of the area.
