Batavia Public Library features Aurora Art League exhibit in June

This month, the Batavia Public Library hosts an exhibit of artwork created by the Aurora Art League.

The displayed artwork was created by league members in a multitude of styles and various medias.

The Aurora Art League's goal is not only to stimulate interest and understanding in art but also to provide programs and opportunities that promote high artistic standards.

This group of artists has dedicated themselves to providing opportunities for both amateur and professional artists that involve both the participant and the spectator.

To this end, the group maintains four rotating exhibits in the area and a scholarship that is awarded annually to a deserving high school graduate to assist in furthering the study of art on a collegiate level.

This exhibit runs through June 30 and may be viewed on the library's Art Wall during regular library hours.

The Batavia Public Library is at 10 S. Batavia Ave. Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
