Centennial Beach and splash pads open Memorial Day weekend in Naperville

Naperville Park District's Centennial Beach is opening for the 2022 swimming season on Saturday, May 28.

Located at 500 W. Jackson Ave. in downtown Naperville, Centennial Beach offers a sandy beach, zero-depth entry with water play features, a slide, deep-water and lap-swim areas and plenty of space for relaxing and picnicking.

Centennial Beach has a full schedule of aquatic programs planned, including swim lessons, aquatic fitness classes, Beach Yoga, Paddleboard Yoga, Mudrats Swim Team and Water Polo Team, water polo instruction and springboard diving instruction.

Special Needs Nights are returning Sunday evenings, June 12 and 26 and July 17 and 24, giving families with individuals who have special needs a time to enjoy a relaxing visit after regular operating hours.

Centennial Beach memberships are available now to purchase online at www.centennialbeach.org.

Memberships purchased prior to Monday, May 30, will receive an early bird discounted rate.

Member benefits include early entry on weekdays, coupons for park district amenities, a 10% discount at Centennial Grill, and two guest passes.

The pool season continues through Monday, Sept. 5.

Also opening this weekend are the splash pads at 95th Street Community Plaza, 3109 Cedar Glade Drive, and Wolf's Crossing Community Park, 3252 Wolf's Crossing Road. It is for ages 12 or younger; children under age 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. It is free to use, but available only on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that the splash pad is push-button operated and "zoned." Certain features will run and rotate through a cycle, but not all elements will run at the same time.
