Aurora, Geneva churches to partner in Pride celebration

A Geneva congregation and two Aurora churches will partner in Pride activities on Sunday, June 12.

Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva congregants will join with members of Aurora's New England Congregational Church and Wesley United Methodist Church to offer a day of family Pride activities and to share in a profound witness to the unconditional welcome of communities.

Aurora's third annual Pride Parade will step off at noon in downtown Aurora.

It will begin with "Pride Cakes" pancake breakfast from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at New England Congregational Church's Friendship Hall, 406 W. Galena Blvd. in Aurora. The breakfast will be cooked and served by Wesley UMC.

From 10 to 10:30 a.m., there will be a combined community worship service in church sanctuary.

Then, from 10:30 to 10:40 a.m., gather near the church's Hawthorne Door/main parking lot area for group walk to parade staging area.

Stop by the "commUNITY Market" vendor fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Water Street Mall.
