Libertyville alumni launches a new twist on a traditional business

May 11, 2022……Libertyville Illinois

Chris Heerdegen, former athlete of the year playing football, wrestling and Track at Libertyville High School, is the founder of OnDemand Painters. Having spent almost 20 years in management at large painting contractor organizations, Heerdegen recognized that the hidebound business was not exploiting some digital tools that other industries are using to better and more quickly serve clients.

"People looking to get work done on their home or business are increasingly looking to digital tools to make the process much more efficient" Heerdegen said. "Information technology and recently developed tools allow us to get quotes to clients in 10 minutes with no waiting around at home for the contractor to give an estimate in person". "Digital communication tools make the traditionally painful process a lot easier to handle from quoting to finishing the job".

Not surprisingly, the majority of OnDemand Painters clients are on the younger side, but have become homeowners over the last decade. "There was a tipping point, where younger tech savvy folks started demanding everything be digital and efficient. They want to type a few keys to get a project started, not spend several evenings at home dealing with contractors. They want instant responsiveness to issues during production, not wait days to hear back."

Continuing to innovate, OnDemand Painters has recently launched a Painting Estimate Calculator

on their website. The calculator allows homeowners to get an idea of the cost of their project on the spot, with no hassle of follow up unless they want a more detailed and firm quote.

"Removing the pain points of the home renovation process, from end to end, is OnDemand's goal"
