Chamber Music on the Fox wraps up season with Third Coast Percussion May 16

Chamber Music on the Fox wraps up its 2021-22 season on Monday, May 16, with "Perspectives," featuring Third Coast Percussion.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at The Highland Loft, 168 E. Highland Ave. in Elgin. The concert also will be offered virtually for $30, available online, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, through 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 31.

"Perspectives" invites listeners to embark on a 70-minute musical adventure, featuring virtuosic percussion repertoire written for the ensemble by some of today's leading composers and music creators. Founded in 2005, Third Coast Percussion has performed hundreds of concerts across the country, presents an annual concert season at home in Chicago, teaches musicians of all ages and experience levels, and has commissioned dozens of new works by composers including Glenn Kotche, Chris Cerrone, Donnacha Dennehy, Timo Andres, David T. Little, Ted Hearne, and Augusta Read Thomas.

Tickets for the season finale concert will be $30 or $15 for students.

This summer, join Chamber Music on the Fox in celebrating the animal kingdom with free family concerts at Lords Park Zoo in Elgin.

"Bison, Bach, and Bassoons!" will be performed at noon Mondays, June 13, July 11, and Aug. 1.
