St. Charles Kiwanis gives grants to local nonprofits

The St. Charles Kiwanis Club donates monthly grants to local organizations that help children in the community.

At the April 26 meeting, the club gave grants of $2,500 to two organizations.

The Geneva-based nonprofit organizations Fox Valley Hands of Hope and the St. Charles History Museum each received grants.

The St. Charles Kiwanis Club generally meets at noon Tuesdays, hybrid and in-person, at the Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Cedar Ave. in St. Charles; check the online calendar for details.

It organizes fundraising activities to support grants awarded to more than 30 charities focused on children.

Club members mentor and serve the community with area high school Key Clubs. They offer regular luncheons with speakers, meaningful fellowship with peers and associates, and ongoing projects offering service to the children in the community.

The St. Charles Kiwanis Club was founded May 17, 1923, and disbanded during World War II and reactivated in1964. It continues to be a thriving organization of service-minded men and women who uplift the community while serving children here and around the world.
