Second City Canine Rescue celebrates 10 years at fundraising gala

It was one cute step and repeat.

Supporters of Second City Canine Rescue cuddled up to fluffy pups as they entered the annual "Cocktails For Canines" gala April 30.

The fundraiser, which took place at the Biltmore Country Club in North Barrington, also celebrated the rescue organization's 10th year of helping animals get adopted.

With more than 250 people in attendance, it was a huge success.

Second City Canine Rescue recently opened a new adoption center at 570 N. Smith St. in Palatine. With a mission of rescuing responsibly, the goal is to find homes for more than 600 dogs this year.
