Wix Gives Global Recognition to Local Web Designer for Superior Functionality

De La Foye Design Studio Takes Top Honors for Superior Functionality

Denise Foy, founder of De La Foye Design Studio and Wix partner has received the first ever Partner Spotlight for Superior Functionality award from Wix, Inc.

Foy founded De La Foye Design Studio in 2018 after a career in corporate IT. When she launched her own web design company, she chose Wix as her platform of choice. Though Wix works with tens of thousands of designers among its partners, Foy is the first to receive this award. The design that helped catapult Foy onto Wix's award radar is Comfy Fitness, which won in the category of superior functionality.

"To win an award from Wix is such an incredible honor, because being a small business owner, it's always a challenge to get recognized beyond the local level," said Foy. "To receive this acknowledgement from one of the largest leaders in my industry is beyond anything I could have ever imagined."

Foy's award received coverage on Creative Boom, on the Wix partner blog and throughout social media channels. For perspective on the reach and growth of the Wix platform, Wix came to life on a beach when three friends were trying to construct a website for their start-up company. Frustrated with the process, they were inspired to bring simple and affordable web design to market. They launched Wix in 2006. In 2009, the company had one million users. In 2021, Wix surpassed an estimated 220 million users on the cloud-based development platform.

There are similarities between Foy and the Wix founders. She, too, imagined her new path to web design in a beach setting. It was on a trip to Bali where Foy became inspired to make her move after 20 years in corporate IT to Wix designer, after helping a struggling restaurateur build his website, which wound up saving his business.

"I like to say Wix is a platform that's for everyone, because in the past, sole proprietors and small businesses on a tight budget weren't as competitive in the digital marketplace as their larger competitors," said Foy. "That's why Wix is attractive to my clients, even though they are hiring me to build their websites, this platform makes it easier for all of us to share our stories with consumers, B2B partners and in our communities."

Foy is a woman-owned business based out of Chicago, Illinois and Asheville, North Carolina. Her clients range from independent cleaning and remodeling companies to fitness platforms and corporate businesses.

"I'm pretty sure my cheeks are still red from all of this excitement, and I truly hope my story will help inspire others to follow their dreams," said Foy. "You absolutely can forge a path to make your own impact in this world."
