Lake County Spelling Bee Final

The Lake County Regional Office of Education hosted its annual countywide Spelling Bee Final on March 16th. The Winner for Lake County was Sahasrad Sathish, an 8th Grader from Lake Forest Country Day School. The 2nd place finisher was Armaan Grewal, a 7th Grader from Barrington Middle School Station. This year 70 schools from Lake County registered to participate in the Spelling Bee. One winner from each school participated in the Sectional Competition on February 16th. The Top 12 scorers then participated in the Final, with students ranging from 4th to 8th grade. Sahasrad Sathish will be the Lake County representative at the National Spelling Bee during Bee Week, which will take place the week of Memorial Day at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Washington, DC.
