Judson's annual Community Prayer Breakfast set for May 11

The Rev. Huron Claus of the Mohawk/Kiowa tribes of New York and Oklahoma will give the keynote speaker at Judson University's annual Community Prayer Breakfast.

This community networking event will be held on Wednesday, May 11 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Judson University's Elgin campus. The event is held in partnership with the Love Family Christian Foundation, which is based in Elgin.

Rev. Claus is a fifth-generation follower of Jesus Christ. The Claus Indian family has ministered through evangelism and music in Native communities and villages across North, Central, and South America. He also is the president of CHIEF Inc., a nonprofit organization with a mission to disciple and train a strong Native Christian leadership in the Word of God, who will practically impact their communities for the glory of God. The organization's vision is to see an effective Christian witness in every Native American tribe and all related tribes in this generation.

CHIEF networks with approximately 3,000 Native Churches among 300 of the 1,200 Native tribes in the Western Hemisphere. Besides leading CHIEF, Rev. Claus has served several Native Ministry boards. He is actively involved as a speaker for church events, national conferences, mission-related activities and speaks often at colleges.

Rev. Claus resides in Phoenix with his wife, Lois, and has two adult children.

During the Prayer Breakfast, Judson will recognize one service leader from the community and one high-school student for their contributions to greater Elgin philanthropic organizations, church communities, and municipalities.

The youth award winner will also receive an annual $3,000 scholarship to attend Judson University for their community service. Nominations for both awards are sought with submissions needed by Friday, April 15, at JudsonU.edu/communityaward or JudsonU.edu/youthaward.

Table sponsorships and tickets are now available.

General admission tickets are $30.

Table sponsorships are $500 for businesses and nonprofits and $300 for Church Table sponsorships with each receiving a table of eight guests.

This community event offers networking opportunities for community leaders and supporters of Christian higher education. Tickets and table sponsorships can be purchased online at judsonu.edu/prayerbreakfast.
