St. Charles Public Library resumes Sunday Concert Series March 13

The St. Charles Public Library's Sunday Concert Series resumes March 13 with a special performance by soprano Megan Bell, cellist Richard Bell and pianist Chaiyi Lee. The trio will perform "Our Favorites … for You" featuring the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, Johannes Brahms, Franz Schubert and André Previn.

The concert will be 2 to 3 p.m. in the library's Carnegie Community Room, 1 S. Sixth Ave.

Soprano Megan Bell sings locally as a member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Chorus, Grant Park Music Festival Chorus, and the St. Charles Singers. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, and her Master of Music degree from Bowling Green State University.

Richard Bell grew up in Norman, Oklahoma and began studying the cello at the age of 10. Bell received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Iowa, and his Master's Degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music. For 30 years, he was the Associate Principal cellist in the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.

Chiayi Lee is an active pianist with an extensive performance background in both solo and chamber music. She received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Iowa. She also holds both a Master's of Music in Piano Performance and a Performer's Certificate from Northern Illinois University.

Since 1981, the library has featured a wide variety of musical performances. The public is invited and the concerts are free to attend. For more information, visit www.scpld.org or call (630) 584-0076.
