Apply for Housing Choice Voucher waiting list Feb. 21

The LCHA Housing Choice Voucher waiting list will be open from 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, through 11:59 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, (or until the waiting list reaches capacity) for online pre-applications only.

Pre-applications received before Feb. 21 will not be accepted. One pre-application per head of household will be allowed. Pre-applications are available online only; no paper pre-applications will be available or accepted.

To apply online Feb 21-25, visit www.lakecountyha.org, click "Housing" and select "HCV Waiting List Online" to begin your application.

Those who require a reasonable accommodation for a disability that prevents them from participating in the application process can submit their request in writing on or before Feb. 21 to: Lake County Housing Authority, Attn: HCV Pre-Application, 33928 N. Hwy. 45, Grayslake, IL 60030.

You must include your name and address in your request. Requests may also be submitted via email to waitlist@lakecountyha.org.

Submission of a pre-application does not guarantee a family a spot on the waitlist. Due to the high level of interest in this open waiting list, LCHA will use a random lottery system to select 2,500 preliminary applications from all pre-applications submitted and those selected pre-applications will be placed on the waitlist.

Applicants should note there is never a fee to apply for rental assistance programs operated by the Lake County Housing Authority.
