Enrollment open at Circle of Friends Preschool
Westbrook School for Young Learners in Mount Prospect School District 57 has launched the enrollment process for its Circle of Friends Preschool program and will soon start registration for kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year.
Circle of Friends includes children ages 3 to 5 with and without special needs in developmentally appropriate half-day classes that run Tuesdays through Fridays.
District 57 kindergarten is held half days Monday through Friday.
Families who are interested in Circle of Friends are asked to go online now and make an appointment to come to the Westbrook office, 103 Busse Road, Jan. 12, 13 or 14 for the purpose of providing residency information and paying an enrollment fee. Due to limited spots, Circle of Friends placement is determined using a lottery system. Families are notified the first week of March, and those who are not selected can choose to be placed on a waiting list. No priority is given to early enrollment.
Pre-enrollment for Westbrook's kindergarten program for the 2022-2023 school year will begin Monday, Jan. 3, 2022. That's when families will be able access a link to provide information and schedule an in-person residency verification appointment for Feb. 7-11. Residency verification is by appointment only.
The final step of the enrollment process occurs in spring 2022 when District 57 emails families a SNAP code and a link to the registration website. Residency verification must be complete in order for families to receive the code and link.
Students must be 5 years old on or by Sept. 1, 2022, to be registered for kindergarten for next school year. Parents will have the opportunity to request a morning or afternoon session during their in-person residency verification appointment. Each request will be reviewed, and parents will be notified of their child's placement in the spring.
