Dr. Michael Durbin Installed as 2022 President-Elect of the Chicago Dental Society

Dr. Durbin Among Five 2022 Board Officers of Chicago Dental Society Leadership.

With more than 30 years of experience in orthodontics, Michael Durbin, D.D.S., M.S., of Prospect Heights, Illinois, was installed as the 2022 President-Elect of the Chicago Dental Society (CDS) on November 14. Dr. Durbin has held multiple leadership positions with CDS, serving as Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President in addition to multiple leadership positions with the organization's Northwest Suburban Branch, including the roles of Branch Director and President.

As President-Elect, Dr. Durbin will play a critical role in supporting membership and driving attendance for the 157th Midwinter Meeting, which will be held at McCormick Place West in Chicago, February 24- 26, 2022. The Midwinter Meeting is CDS' annual scientific meeting and one of the dental industry's premier events. The 2022 event will be back in person after a virtual experience in 2021 and will offer attendees access to courses taught by world-class speakers and today's leaders in dental innovation, live exhibits, and networking opportunities with colleagues and friends. As President-Elect, Dr. Durbin will work closely with CDS leaders and assume the role of CDS President in 2023.

In addition to his leadership roles with CDS, Dr. Durbin is very involved in the field of orthodontics, holding leadership positions in multiple organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, Illinois Society of Orthodontists, Illinois State Dental Society and Midwestern Society of Orthodontists. During the course of his career, Dr. Durbin has received fellowships from the International College of Dentists, American College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy and Academy of Dentistry International and earned professional awards, such as the Illinois State Dental Society's President's Award and American Dental Association's President's Award, for his exemplary contributions to dentistry and the profession.

Dr. Durbin graduated with honors from Loyola University Chicago and went on to earn his dental degree and Master of Science in orthodontics from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. For more than 30 years, Dr. Durbin has operated a private orthodontic practice in Des Plaines, Illinois, and, since 1998, is a partner at Associated Dental Specialists of Long Grove, Illinois. Dr. Durbin lives in Prospect Heights, Illinois, with his wife, and they have two grown children. Outside of work, Dr. Durbin enjoys sports, snowmobiling, wave running, boating and spending time with his family.

Established in 1864, CDS is the largest local society of the American Dental Association, with more than 4,000 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties.
