Batavia High School partners with VALEES to host Education Pathways event Nov. 15

Batavia High School, in partnership with VALEES, will be hosting an Education Pathways event to connect students who are interested in pursuing a career in education with current and past educators.

On Monday, Nov. 15, students will be treated to a keynote presentation by Dwayne Reed, America's Favorite Rapping Teacher, and roundtable discussions with education professionals from 9 to 11:20 a.m. at the Batavia Fine Arts Centre.

The need for educators is growing in the region and is expected to continue in the future.

Valley Education for Employment System is a regional delivery system established by the Illinois State Board of Education which serves 17 school districts, two area career/vocational centers, one special education cooperative, and Waubonsee Community College, covering a five-county area. VALEES also collaborates with the College of DuPage, Joliet Junior College, and Kishwaukee College to promote articulated career and technical program. For more, visit www.valees.org.

Batavia High School is a four-year program with a present enrollment of 1,960students. The school, a member of the DuKane Conference, is accredited by the North Central Association. The annual expenditure per pupil is $8,100. The school calendar consists of four blocks of 90-minute classes each term.
