Pakistan Physician Society Honored Health-Care Professionals in Annual Meeting

More than 400 Chicago area public health advocates Joined to honor their Chicago's area Healthcare Professionals on Saturday, September 16th,2021 at the grand ballroom of Marriott Oak Brook.

Pakistan-Descent Physicians Society organized an Annual Gala Dinner, where members, supporters, and dignitaries from across the state gather. The Pakistan Physicians Society (PPS) of Illinois is a part and local chapter of the Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America (APPNA).

The master of ceremony was Naurein Mirza. The program began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an by Qasim Chaudhry. The proceedings began with national anthems (American and Pakistan by Violinist Kristina Zlatareva. There was a one-minute silence observed for those who lost their lives due to Covid-19.

Sold-out event was a hit with more than 400 attendees and the attendance was so large and impressive. The official business meeting started with the presentation of reports by the treasure Dr. Nozaina Aftab.

Welcome and opening remarks were conducted by Dr. Ayezah Mir. It was followed by Eman Hijab who introduced PPS President Dr. Samina Hijab.

Dr. Samina Hijab, current president of PPS made her speech and highlighted the achievements and report of the Pakistan Physician Society for this year. She appreciates everyone for working hard During Pandemic. In her regard, Pakistani physicians are engaged in efforts to provide medical facilities to the people through hospitals and clinics in Chicago areas During Pandemic. And philanthropists are performing their duties in Chicagoland. Pakistani doctors and philanthropists who came to the event donated for the hospital and clinic on this occasion. After the completion of her speech she introduces Chief Guest Secretary of State Mr. Jesse White. Mr. White also performed a short speech. Congressman Danny Davis also came to the stage and performed Short speech.

Illinois State Governor JB Pritzker Shared his Special Video message of gratitude for all Health care workers and Pakistan Physician Society.

Dr. Hijab Introduces Keynote Speaker Dr. Jawad Shah owners of the Insight Chicago Hospital (formerly Mercy Hospital. During his Keynote speech highlight about his aim, goal, purpose and mission. He said, "My personal mission is to be an agent for social and economic growth in this country through various research and education programs and nonprofit involvement."

The Pakistan Physician Society is the well-known organization of Pakistani Physicians in Illinois who have no political affiliation or connection with any political party or agenda in Pakistan and USA. This organization is totally non-profit and is working toward the promotion of social, cultural, educational and humanitarian goals. Led by the Board of Trustees, the office bearers of the Executive Council and our volunteer leadership. The theme of the Program was Honoring Healthcare Heroes.

The Pakistan Physician Society honors more than 30 health professionals working on the front lines to defend human rights during Pandemic.

Lifetime achievement and humanitarian awards were presented to several doctors and Physicians. Those who had proven in his field and achieved the goal of humanity also participate in medical relief and other charitable activities in Pakistan and the state of Illinois. PPS donates a large amount of funds to The Human Development Foundation to promote and continue support of health, education, and welfare in Pakistan and Thar water Project. Scrumptious dinner and an elaborate dessert was served to all. Musical Entertainment was performed by famous Pakistani singer Ali Pervez Mehdi from Pakistan. He presents several hit songs.

At the end of the program, Pakistan's leading singer Ali Pervez Mehdi performed and received Tribute. A sumptuous dinner was organized in honor of the men and women attending the annual gala, the ceremony continued till late at night
