Halloween Happenings comes to Gail Borden Library
Pick out your pumpkin, taste some treats then head over to Gail Borden Public Library for some scary and not-so-scary programs to celebrate Halloween. Families will enjoy stories, crafts and more at a "Halloween Hullabaloo" offered as an in-person program at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at the main library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin, and virtually at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28.
Wear your costume for a monstrously fun time with music, stories and dancing. The Halloween Dance Party for ages 2 to 6 is offered on two different days: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, and 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27. Both sessions are in person at the Main Library Meadows Community Rooms.
Elementary school kids will enjoy a virtual Book Party featuring Desmond Cole-Ghost Patrol at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28. Participants will meet scaredy-cat Andres, who moves in next door to Desmond Cole, a ghost hunter. Then everyone will read and discuss part of the book and make a spooky craft.
Ready to get scared? Teens in sixth to 12th grade are invited to "Elgin Teen Life: Teen Scream Horror Film Fest" at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the main library. Join them for scary movies, Halloween crafts, treats, a screaming contest and more.
All of the "Halloween Happenings" programs require registration. There are three ways to register: online at gailborden.info/register, by calling (847) 429-4597, or in person at any library location. For more information about fall library programs, visit gailborden.info/fallprograms.
