Aurora Kiwanis names new club president

The Kiwanis Club of Aurora recently held its 105th Installation Dinner.

The event was held on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the Aurora Country Club.

Bob Bridgman is the new club president for the 2021-22 year.

The Aurora club, which dates from Sept. 9, 1916, is the oldest Kiwanis Club in the Eastern Iowa-Illinois District and the 18th longest serving at the international level.

The club is hosting 46th "Service to God & Fellowman" award dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Gaslite Manor, 2485 Church Road in Aurora. Dinner is at 6:30 p.m. Individual ticket cost is $40, two for $75 or $300 for a table of eight. Menu options include beef filet, chicken reganiti, or vegetable lasagna dinner.

This year, Dick and Arlene Hawks will be the award recipients.
