Rep. Bos Says Citizens Deserve Better than Pritzker's Broken Redistricting Promises

LAKE ZURICH - State Representative Chris Bos (R-Lake Zurich) issued the following statement in response to Governor Pritzker signing the second set of gerrymandered redistricting maps passed by majority party Democrats despite calls against it from several advocacy organizations:

"Having already done it once, it's not surprising that Gov. Pritzker again broke his promise to the people of Illinois by signing the second version of gerrymandered legislative maps forced through the General Assembly by the majority party," said Bos. "It's sadly cynical that the Governor will speak out against gerrymandering in other states, but when numerous diverse, good-government advocacy organizations in our state call on him stand by his word and reject gerrymandered maps, he conveniently ignores it. Citizens deserved better. We desperately need an independent redistricting process."
